Hi.
My HTPC is set to output 50Hz (PAL here) instead of 60Hz. If i run NPVR, it stay at 50Hz, but if i run video in VMR9 FSE mode, screen change to 60Hz (return to 50Hz after stop).

So this 60Hz is hardcoded or it is possible to change it somehow to 50Hz by default?

I dont explicitly set this refresh rate. I leave it set to use the default. My assumption was that it would match whatever your desktop was running at.

By some reason it wont. If i use VMR9 renderer, it use desktop - 50Hz, but VMR9 FSE use 60Hz.
The same in GB-PVR.

Give this patch a go. It tries to force the refresh rate to match your desktop.

Thanks, i will try it when i will return from work.

BTW, SUB, i dont known what was changed, but VMR9 FSE no longer have broken deinterlacing if PDVD11 DXVA decoder is in use, so NPVR is now working good even on WinXP.

Never had that happen with my GBPVR/XP setup. VMR9 FSE refresh always matched the desktop, which was 50Hz for me too.

I think there are two default settings - one for dektop and second for D3D. And i think FSE using D3D one - but i can be wrong.
There was some refresh rate tweeker for that, but it is long time since i was using it.

Working! Thanks, now it is perfect (using ReClock) Smile

Can I ask what exactly the patch does sub?

One of the things you can do with ReClock is to change the refresh rate to match the content rate. I'd hate to think this kind of functionality would break if you're now forcing a refresh rate that might not be what's wanted. Are you doing it at startup, or on every video start?

It was also one of my long-term goals to try to make a plugin that did something similar for people who didn't want to use ReClock. It would use MediaInfo to detect the framerate, and then change the refresh to match. It would be great if there was a way to talk to NPVR to request a particular refresh rate before playback started (we've already got events that tell a plugin what's about to play, so any callback could go there perhaps).

The current ReClock implementation works ok-ish, but sometimes the video goes all wonky after the rate changes. A pause/resume fixes it. Wonky definition: it's like the framerate has halved or something. Audio seems to stay ok.

Sorry for rambling, but it seemed relevant Smile

Edit: I should add that I can't test the patch just now, hence my question about what it's doing
