Strange EPG/Tuner problem

After installing the updates, my EPG no longer lets me use both tuners on my HVR1600 at the same time even though they are used discretely. If I record a QAM channel it won't let me record a STB channel, and the opposite is true as well.

Any ideas? I just get "no tuner available".

Strangely, I can watch the other tuner live, but not record it or program it to record.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I could watch either tuner while the other is recording, but not record both at the same time. This just happened, I think after I installed the patches.

Wait a minute, isnt the HVR-1600 a single tuner device, capable of ATSC/QAM/Analog, but only one at a time?

It's a digital tuner and an analog tuner. The digital on mine is QAM straight from the cable and the analog goes to an SD STB.

I've been using this for about 2+ years (or thereabouts).

To be honest, I really cant remember on this one. I thought it was single tuner.

You could try deleting the 'Hauppauge 418' rules from DeviceRules.xml. This will allow it to attempt to use the analog and digital sides at the same time.

Sorry to keep butting in but I thought the same thing when I first got my 1600 and was told only 1 recording at a time. I did read about a year ago where new drivers and Wintv & were going to allow 2 simultaneous recordings through WinTV but since I'm not interested in using WinTV 7, I've never tried it though I did update to the latest drivers and still it made no difference.
Here's some info about it but it's old.

My card does allow multi-recording though!

Don't be haters on the old HVR1600, it's done yeoman's work for years!

I am thinking about getting one of the DCR2650's that would be sweet if it works.
