I have a nPVR server running on Win7. I have a client set up on Vista. I can access the server but when I play back a recorded file (.ts) all I get is a blank screen. I can right click and get back to the menu so it's not hung. I can play the files over the network using Windows Media Player. It's probably a decoder issue. What decoders should I use with Vista?

Can you try playing a file, then zip and attach both the client npvr.log, and server nrecord.log?

Here are all 4 logs just in case. I did have audio but no video.

Thanks

I use ffdshow with NPVR on Vista with no problems however by default ffdshow doesn't enable an mpeg2 decoder. You might need to configure the ffdshow properties by clicking the ... button in NPVR, and on the Codecs selection, find MPEG2 and pick a decoder (I use libavcodec). If you have this there are options to whitelist/blacklist apps on the DirectShow control selection that you need to configure.

I think Martin is probably right. It appears to be connecting to the server ok, so I think it's ffmpeg configuration issues.

I didn't have libavcodec but Microsoft MPEG-2 Video Decoder works!
