DVB-S/S2 EPG Problems

I have a problem with DVB-S/S2 EPG. I have a customised satellite ini file that includes all the transponders on the Optus D1 satellite that I want to use. Some are vertical, some are horizontal. During an EPG update, only the EPG from one transponder is populated. I suspect that my universal LNB is taking a little bit long either to switch between horizontal and vertical or low/high band - and therefore the EPG scan is timing out.

Now, if I enable EPG update during live TV, all of my EPG is populated. However, the old problem of multiple copies of EPG then crops up, meaning I need to right click many times to move forward in the time-line. This problem has been around since the last version, only it seems worse since I upgraded to 2.2.6 with the R2 patch.

Is there a way to make nPVR wait a little longer, after it sets the LNB polarity and/or 22 Khz band selection, before it scans for EPG?

Or, is the issue of multiple EPG layers when set to update during live TV ever going to be fixed?

Cheers!

It should have 60 seconds, so I'm pretty sure it wont be that.

Nothing really springs to mind, but hit the 'update epg' button then zip and attach npvr.log and I'll see if anything stands out.

Thanks sub. I deleted my nvpr.log file and then restarted the npvr services. Then I updated EPG. The only EPG I get is from 12398,V,11909,34 (the fourth item in my attached satellite ini file with Nine, GEM and GO!). As mentioned before, if I enable EPG update during live TV, I get all my EPG info, but then run into problems with multiple layers of EPG stuffing things up. If you can point me in the right direction to fix this, I'd be very grateful.

Cheers,
Bill.

It'll relate to this. Not sure quite how it happened though. Its like you setup multiple devices using the same channel (and at that point the original channel's EPG source was getting EPG from that first device), and at that stage it was all working, but at some later you removed the channel mappings from that original device.

You might need to delete and recreate the channels to fix it.

Thanks so much for looking into this, Sub. I will go ahead and delete all my channels and start from scratch. I have replaced a few DVB-S tuners over the last few months until recently settling on a dual tuner TBS6891, which works excellently in nPVR for both DVB-S and S2 channels. This is probably what led to the problem I have.

Speaking of tuners, I now have a few removed tuners in my devices list. Do you think you will ever give us the option to remove them? If not, can I do this manually somehow?

Thanks again for your help, Sub.

Bill.

I have intended to add this, but since it's only cosmetic it's been pretty low on my priority list.

That's what I tell my wife when we're getting ready to go out. :p Fair enough, Sub. I really do appreciate all your hard work. nPVR is awesome!

Cheers,
Bill.
