I am running hdhomerun with NPVR. The channels are configured, EPG is up to date. I have an nrecord exception on the AVG firewall. I am receiving a blank screen when I try to watch a channel. Also when I try to record I receive a empty file. Does anybody know why this does not work????

Usual reason for this with a hdhomerun is because the firewall is blocking communication with nrecord.exe, so I'd double check your AVG settings. Possibly try briefly with the firewall disabled.

Also make sure you've got an MPEG2 decoder selected on the Settings -> Decoders screen.

So I had the Microsoft MPEG2 decoder selected. I tried changing it to Intervideo decoder. I also disabled the AVG firewall. It still does not work. anymore
suggestions???

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the npvr.log and nrecord.log and I'll see if anything stands out.

So I do not see where the npvr.log and nrecord.log files are located. I search on both and did not find either one.

What windows are you running?

In the logs it looks like the device is failing to lock onto an ATSC signal, and its taking a really long time to check the signal. Maybe try running the HDHomeRun config utility at the same time to see what it reports about the tuning
Quote:2011-10-18 22:05:58.779 [DEBUG][6] locked=0, present=1, strength=88, quality=0 (took 2168ms to check)

Also, something is wrong with your video decoder:

In W7 you can use the Microsoft video decoder, not the best but almost guaranteed to work Smile if everything else is ok. Do you have any way of checking the signal strength?
