I'm having problems with comskip starting the commercial skip too soon and ending it too early. I miss a minute or so just prior to the skip and end up with a minute or so of commercials just after. I've not really seen any complaint here but looking at the comskip forum it looks like I should by changing the "edl_offset" setting. With the March donators versions however, there is no edl_offset setting. Is anybody else running into this with NPVR? If so, how are you dealing with it? Thanks.

I'm having the exact same problem, I haven't found any good solution yet but I'm about to post a request for help to the comskip guy, as soon as I can put together the nessesary files.

Being an entire minute off seems unusual. However, if the offsets are consistent, you can adjust the NPVR config.xml parameters:
Code:
<ComskipStartOffset>5000</ComskipStartOffset>
    <ComskipEndOffset>0</ComskipEndOffset>

Thank you both. I believe what I'm seeing is pretty consistent. I will give the NPVR offset a try. If it turns out it is isn't consistent, hopefully Eric can provide Reddwarf and I some suggestions.

Unfortunately, using the offset in NPVR didn't work for me. It looks like the offset needed increases over the length of the movie.

I'm still struggeling with this, I cannot get the described procedure for making the .csv file to work (the files that should be attached when you email the comskip author for help)

I have issues with comskip also. I have disabled the parallelprocessing.bat file that invokes it as I get mixed results. The main problem is gaps in the recorded .ts file that hangs viewing. Also, after recovering it will jump back to a previous area in the file... I have watched these files with vlc too, and this is how they were saved/written/converted/whatever..

I'm seeing similar results with several of my recordings recently. I don't think that they are signal quality related.

A question for sub or others: If the recording drive isn't able to "keep up" (due to some combination of too many concurrent recordings, comskip/transcoding processes, and/or playback sessions), will the NPVR recording just "drop" some of the .ts stream and not log any errors?
