I would really like the added benefits of the TV Listings plugin, but...

I downloaded the plugin, copied the files to the data directory appropriate for Win 7 - TV Listings.db3 and TV Listings.dll are in c:\users\public\npvr\plugins and the TV Listings and TV Recordings skin folders are in Skin\Default.

I also placed both the XMLTVextras.exe and PostUpdateEPG.bat files in c:\users\npvr\scripts

Enabled the Pluging which appear in the settings tab underneath Plugins as -TV Listings

Quit NextPVR and restarted.

Guide was exactly the same as before.

Went to Settings/Channels and emptied Guide, then downloaded new Guide. Same as before.

Tried many things but all result in no difference to the guide or any other change that I can see.

Running 2.2.6 on Windows 7. I use MC2XML to generate the EPG.

Help please!

Their should be a new entry on the Main Menu added by the plugin called "TV Listings". Use that instead of the default "TV Guide".

Thanks - my Main Menu shows only TV Guide, no TV Listings.

I actually went to Plugins and disabled TV Guide hoping TV Listings would take it's place before I posted, but no.

I also ran the PostUpdateEPG.bat and could see in the command window that it was looking at the correct epg xml file, and it said it updated something like 244 entries. So I'm pretty sure that part is good.

But I've got nothing that shows anything to do with TV Listings at all except where it is listed and activated on Settings under Plugins.

Maybe try to unclick it under Plugins and close NPVR and try again.
After you clicked on TV Listings in Plugin, did you go into the menu for TV Listings? I didn't think you had to but maybe if you went thru the TV Listing tabs then closed and restarted, it may show up.

Best thing to do would be to zip and attach your log (NPVR.log).

I've tried every combination imaginable. I've enabled/disabled the plugin, closed and restarted dozens of times, still no luck. Somewhere, somehow I have a setting off or a file in the wrong place. Not sure where or how I did it, seems like everyone else was able to get it to work without a problem Sad

I did zip and attach the log as requested, along with a screen cap showing the plugin enabled and no TV Listings. Hopefully someone can see something that I am missing...

Log looks normal, has TV Listings stuff all over it. Also, the screenshot included in the zip has the "recordings soon" panel which is part of the plugin.

Scared to ask this but want to be sure - in the screenshot it stops at 'Videos', I assume you've navigated down past this to show the remaining menu items?

Never, never, never be afraid to ask something, no matter how stupid it may seem, when you are dealing with an imbecile.

No, I hadn't. To tell the truth I had never been below Videos and had just assumed that's where the menu stopped.

In my defense I've only had NextPVR up and working 2 days, so of course you could see how I wouldn't know that there was anything beyon - oh, nevermind.

Well, I just navigated below Videos and what do you think I found... TV Listings!!

What can I say, I'm a dumbo! Thanks for the help.

Go back and read most of my posts and you wont' feel like an imbecile. Believe me, years later and I'm still asking more than answering questions on this forum. It's the most friendly, helpful forum you'll find anywhere.
