Hi.

I have two TV cards (Hauppauge 150MCE) working fine. Cable input is fed to both and various channels have been tuned on them.

I also have 02 dish receivers and have connected Receiver1 to card 1 and Receiver2 to card2 through AV cables.

Then, thru GBPVR's config menu, I installed Composite channel1 (named 'Dish1') on Card1 and 'Dish2' on Card 2. I then also added the composite channel 'Dish1' to the list of tuned channels on the card1 and added 'Dish2' to listed channels on Card2.

However, one channel is receiving signal while other is not. (The one on Card2 is OK). I tried to swap the receivers and the same thing; no signal on Card1 while OK signal on Card2).

(The 'source channel' is mentioned as '1' for both Dish1 and Dish2).

I am completely baffled. Please advise.

Regards.

Hi.
Now, there is no signal on both.
They are also not tuned properly because I get the 'snow' on them like you have on cable channels. Composite channels dont have snow but are just blank when no signal.

Hi there seymoria,

given your long lasting membership of this forum you must have your reasons for sticking with the most excellent GB-PVR.

But as I am sure you are aware sub is no longer supporting GB-PVR and many members are not either.

You may have your reasons for sticking with GB-PVR and not moving to the (IMHO even more excellent) NextPVR, but I think that you will find responses to GB-PVR related problems will be a lot slower coming to you than if you were using NextPVR!

cheers

The initial setup of analogue devices has one less (major) step than NPVR and given that the system worked in the past makes me think this is fixable.
My test machine has a pvr150 in it (currently unused) so I'll have a go setting it up and see what the pitfalls may be. I'll have to find a source that I can use as an input though... hmmmmm....

In the meantime, which is the model number of your PVR150? some have different composite/svideo inputs. and Which driver version are you using (ISTR the input names may vary depending on the driver.)

Martin, thanks for checking out my thread.

I have two different sets of PVR150 models. I was using Model 26589 Rev C9A5 for last 2 years without any trouble, with older drivers. The problem cropped up just few days back. In an effort to resolve, I replaced the cards with Model No. 26559 LF Rev F089 and also updated the drivers with latest WinTV 7 (2.4d). However, nothing changed at all. I also downloaded and installed NPVR. However, NPVR had the same problem due to which I uninstalled it. GBPVR was also uninstalled and re-installed but no improvement.

In my other thread here, I have posted logs from GBPVR which may give you some clues.

Regards,

Hi again seymoria,

once again you will find responses to GB-PVR stuff quite slow, but obviously really helpful of Martin to join in your thread there!

You do not seem to have posted your GB-PVR logs anyway?

Once again you obviously have your reasons for not trying NextPVR and seeking help for your issue that way?

You installed NextPVR but instead of sticking with it and asking advice you then just un-installed it again? Or have I read that wrong? You asked for advice about the PVR150's after installing NextPVR and before un-installing it?

The PVR150 works very well with NextPVR, I have one. sub provided support for it when the move came from GB-PVR to NextPVR. I do not know if I can be of any help. I do not get involved with GB-PVR support in any way now. But am sure you will find help from this very friendly community.

cheers

Don't panic about my lack of response. I'm trying to make time, but family health problems are encroaching on free time.

Hi Martin.
I am in no hurry at all Smile
Pls take your time and I really appreciate your interim response. I am also grateful that you plan to work on it in future when you have more free time to think over the problemresolution.

Steeb.
What you understood is all correct. I installed NPVR and then uninstalled it. Reasons are :
1) I primarily installed it to eliminate my problem. But it didnt happen.
2) Basic recording interface and menus look quite different than GBPVR. Thus a long 'learning curve' for me. Besides very little info on recording functions.
3) For someone only intested in recording and not requiring the vast new capabilities of NPVR, it may not be the change needed.

However, due to my lingering problem, and your encouragement about its compatibility with PVR150, I am again thinking about re-installing it. If I do, I can post logs for you to check out the problem root cause.

Regards.

Hi there seymoria, been a long time since I did any support stuff but the config.exe logs show a total failure to find the filters needed.

Have you tried to re-register the filters?

I am very rusty at this so may be way off the mark!

cheers

I'd noticed the filters generating a lot of errors. My initial thought was to try installing one of the Hauppauge TV apps (maybe the one that came on the install CD) and make sure that you can view TV with that. If so, then gbpvr problem, if not then drivers/filters problem.

Is there anything wierd you can pin down to happening at the time when it all went wrong, normally something like a running PVR system just not just stop working, but something breaks it.
