Why do I seem to be jinxed with NPVR now.

So, I've uninstalled, and reinstalled more than once. Then, I notice a new release just yesterday, so repeated the cycle.

I cannot get past this EWA interface with recordings. I have (had) a couple recordings saved off. In manage recordings, in the past I'd used the stream button directly under each recording. Now the url has a ?cancel=NNN value with the stream option, and instantly deletes the recordings. If I click on the recording to popup the I get a white window with generic presentation, as if the themes2 stylesheet isn't able to be loaded.

Are you running the latest NPVR....this version of NEWA will not work without loading NPVR 2.3.6.

This version of NEWA is the same version that installs with NPVR 2.3.6

If you want to reinstall then follow the instructions on the wiki for loading a new build.

Some indicate they needed to do a restart on their machine for the changes to take effect but that should not really be necessary.

Let me know.

I completely whacked again. Wiped everything in public and program files. Went through the pain of rebuilding my OTA channels and EPG sources.

Start a recording, pull up the web interface, and as soon as I mouse over the "stream" icon, it still ends in "?cancel=xyz" which I'm pretty sure is going to delete the recording if I click it. Granted, I should wait till it ends to be sure, but that is the same behavior I had before which would delete the recordings rather than stream them.

Ok, tree view during a recording shows a "cancel" button rather than a "stream" option which would make sense.

After the recording is done I have "play", "download", and "stream" and "stream" url is still passing "cancel=xyz"

What browser are you using....when I set an manual recording like you have here I also see a Cancel button with the other buttons......it appears you Cancel button may be hidden on screen some how and you are picking it up.....move the mouse around that area and see if you pickup a url that looks something like this....
Code:
http://localhost:8866/public/Player2.aspx?rid=10377&type=mr
this is a link for the stream button.....

I had what I think is the same problem. Are you running 64-bit Windows perhaps? The default setting for VLC is not correct for a 64-bit install and causes an error in the page code where the Stream button gets tagged with the contents for the Cancel button. UJB is looking into it. Change the setting (click on the Config button in NEWA, then scroll to the bottom of the page) to C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\ for 64-bit Windows. Also note that the trailing "\" has to be there or streaming fails with an error.

Yes, Harry, that was it. Getting the streaming to work was a little disappointing, as in doesn't work either - VLC is launched as a process, but that's about it. If I run same command as shown in the logs, the stream begins and can be viewed, but these HD recordings are fuglee streamed. I'm not going to be using NPVR to stream so don't figure on wasting anymore time to try to get it working.

Wow, what a trip. Followed almost all 9 pages of this post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...LC-via-EWA to get to the end, and streaming is actually working once again. These handy little tricks (the windows 7 path & service level account) one would think should make their way to the top level thread, if they aren't there already. Certainly didn't catch my eye when I looked. Good to find support on this forum regardless

Quick question; when I go into Manage Recordings, newa always show me all types of recording, is there a way to configure it so it only shows me Available recordings?
