A silly question but it did not seem to be so on mine.
Can someone clarify, if I select a program to record on a client in the EPG does the program record on the server or the client? IE once the recording is set I can power the client down?

Cheers

That is correct, it will record on the server since the client cannot have any capture devices.

Well it could, but if it was running in client mode (ie connected to another server), then they'll be ignored anyway.

You make the selection from a screen on the client (whether it's a PC, Media MVP, NMT or other device). When you tell NPVR to record a show, NPVR creates a record of that request in the database on the server and the server automagically takes care of the rest. The actual recording takes place on the server, even if the client shuts down.

On a clear disk, you can seek forever...
