Strange Screen 3.6 beta

The attached screenshot and log show TV Listings 3.6 beta behaving oddly ...

Start NPVR and open TV Listings
Click on a show.
The details popup appears as a small picture in the grid but does not expand to full size.
Press right arrow key and popup expands to full size.
Nothing in the popup works properly .. Quick Record does nothing.

I have attempted to fix by ...

Reloading EPG data.
Re-installing TV Listings.
Re-installing NPVR.
Getting Windows 7 up to date with Windows Update.

Fixed it. I installed the DirectX runtime. It is a pre-req for NPVR, so I should have done it before I started.
