NPVR Web Server crashes (?)

Hi,


to start and cancel records i use the web server. Sometimes this one crashes. Eventually the web server ist not available anymore. Then i have to restart the recording service again.
I am not sure, what is really happening. The icon in the taskbar is available and usable still, but is very slow.
Any ideas, or does anyone know this problem?

You'd probably need to post the logs as a first step.

i would try to do. But can you tell me, which logs (where) i should take and how/if there is a way to change log levels?

Namely i have already had a look, but could not identify relevant problems. I saw few exceptions/errors or warnings, but i they were related to that problem ?!

Probably nrecord.log and web.log from:

Windows Vista & Windows 7: C:\users\public\npvr\logs
Windows XP: C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\npvr\logs

There is no setting to change the logging level, but there are other logs that can be enabled if I think they're needed.

i have the logs now.
I am rather sure, that the web server crashed (or is hanging, or similar...) when i canceled a record. directly after this i did something else for about 2 or 3 minutes, not more.
Then i clicked on TV Guide and the web server was'nt availabe anymore. It would be not the first time, that the server crashes on cancel. There was also another running recording
(i still see the taskbar icon with a red 'n' inside). It does not record anymore.
When i found out the crash it was 22:50, but i think the crash happend after 22:47. So the logs may not state about anything about it ?!

Are you using 2.4.3, and do you have the 'use out-of-process digital recording' ticked?

yes, i am using 2.4.3,

and i did not have this option ticked. But, i know it was ticked, and i had those "crashes" when it was ticked. Namely after this i unticked this and ticked 'use background recording services'.
Now i have ticked both and will try out!

i have now testet all variations of the points backround recording service and out-of-process recording. It seems the behaviour is little different, but crashes of the recording service/web server still occure.
There might be one interesting point, namely that if the server is not available the black icon in the taskbar is surrounded by white dots (3 dots on each corner [upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right]).
And this strangly recently after each start of windows. This seems not to happen, if both items are checked, but then still a crash occures, most after canceling a record in the web browser.
Additionally i have now recognized, that recordings do not work correctly, if i start records of two analog channels at the same time. ( i have hauppauge wintv pvr 2200, with two analog tuners).
Then the first records starts, but after is started the second record, the first record stops writing data (within few seconds). The stream is still written, but the videos stands. The second started record works normal.
Those are all realizations i have made till now.
Can you help anymore?

All such problems i did'nt definitly have with the old gbpvr! :-(.

To be honest, I dont know - I dont have much info to go on.

Is there any error message in the Event Viewer.
