Access PIP from guide or other gui option

OK, I know it's a new feature, but it would be great if I could select a PIP channel while watching live tv by doing something like, overlay guide, ok on channel, select 'watch PIP' from the menu.
The reason 123* is not much use is that a) I have no idea what my channels are numbered - I only ever select via the guide rather than direct access. b) even if I knew my favourite channel numbers by heart, I wouldn't know what was on them to watch without referencing the guide first.

Don't your channel numbers show up in your guide?

well, yes, but when we had 4 channels it was kind of obvious. Now we've got 80 or so, I couldn't just decide to check up on ITV4 and dial in the number, I'd have to back out into the guide to find out what number it was, which reduces the usefulness of PIP to me.
