Can someone please give me a run through of how to get TV listings working well in NZ, using DVB-S (for freeview) only? There is so much info around re EPG sources etc and I'm not sure what is relevant to me. Can this plugin even be used effectively for freeview in NZ? I hope so because it looks so cool!

Currently I just use stock npvr 2.5.5 and the EPG that I get from the satellite.

What is teh source of tv listings? Does it drive the tuners (like nextpvr does) to extact the listings or does it require an xmltv file?

If the former then it should "just work". If the latter, you may beed something like epgcollector from geekzone.co.nz and pull epg off the satellite to an xml file, then feed that to tv listings.

I haven't seen the plugin, but if someone answers the top question about how it works, then the 2nd statement should give you a way forward.

I was just about to ask Wodger exactly what he was asking as his question has sort-of lost me??

TV Listings works fine for me for DVB-S EPG data but I am using Epgcollector to get that data into an xml file as it just gives a lot more flexibility. The look ups etc. in TV Listings don't work quite so well because most of the supplied listing for our guide are so lacking in the finer details... like even supplying the episode name or series....

Apologies if I am stating the obvious. TV Listings is display only. It uses the same EPG data from the same database as the built-in TV Guide.
