NPVR, windows, 2.5.5, BONE stock with Schedules Direct Guide Information.

Go to NVPR
Open Guide, find show that starts in 8 minutes from now
Double click
Select Record
Select "Record Season (all episodes on this channel)
1 pre pad, 2 post pad, default directory, keep all recordings
Click ok

Recurring is added, there is NO pending recording added, nothing happens, Guide doesn't turn red.

If I do QuickRecord, the guide will change red but that's not very useful?

I tried this before and it worked (guide turned red, pending recording was correct) and then it didn't record. The pending recording just fell off the list, nothing recorded, nothing in the logs? Of all the aspects of NPVR, I thought this would be simplest since it's just scheduling but I've yet to really successfully get it to record on its own? Manual record works (proving everything is connected properly but that's about it).

Once every few months, I have a similar problem. It is, for me, that I have somehow got the database software used by NPVR in a pickle.

I reboot to get everything back on track. If that's not it, then you will need to re-post telling us exactly what you did ... name of show, time that you tried set the recurring record, blah ... and post the logs ...

Good Luck.

If you delete a planned recurring recording, there is logic to make sure it won't be re-recorded as a recurring recording. Otherwise if you didn't want it you'd be deleting it every day for two weeks.

I must be having the same problem. I select a recurring recording, eg, daily at 10pm and only 3 days in the week turn red. The other 2 need to be manually to "quick record" and then they turn red.
If this is caused by the fact that I manually cancelled this recording, I would like to be able to disable this behavior, because most of the time, I only cancel a recording to free up a tuner to record a show that conflicts with it. IE, it's a one time deal, not forever.
Is there someway to disable this behavior and record all shows and simply put the conflicts under the conflicts selection and let me decide what I want to do about it?

I'm having the (pretty much) exact same problem myself. I just upgraded to 2.6.2 as I thought I read in the change logs that this issue was supposed to be fixed, but I still have the problem.

Some of my recurring recordings that I have had for a very long time, such as the nightly news, are still showing red in the guide and recording each night. Revolution and Revenge were setup as recurring recodings, but they some how lost that status. They stopped recording, stop showing red, do not show up in pending recordings, but show up in recurring recordings.

I have tried deleting all instances of these two shows in the recurring section and re-adding. They re-add to recurring, but not to pending and do not turn red in the guide.

I also can not add any other new recurring recordings.

Same issue with v2.5.9. I had been recording The Big Bang Theory reruns daily for the last serveral months. On 4/17 they stopped recording (for reasons unknown). The don't show as red in the TV Guide and do not show up in pending. I tried deleting the recurring recording and readding, but that didn't help. I tried a reboot in between the remove and add, no difference. I also just noticed "The Following", which I was way behind on, skipped all episodes from 3/25 to the finale (tonight) except 4/15. ??? Guess I'll be watching those on Fox's website. Would an export and import help?

Same issue with the normal weekly time slot for Big Bang. I can Quick Record, but 'Record Season - All Episodes' gives me nothing (no red box in schedule, no recording).

I removed all instances of 'Big Bang Theory' from the Recurring_Recording table in npvr.db3 (there were a lot of them) - now it works correctly.
