XVID...

Hi recently got my Media MVP and am having troubles playing certain AVI files. They play but dont look right(like they are not running at a decent frame right), the sound is in sync though.

I have tried the lastest software and the software that came on my driver CD.

After some more investigation I have found some XVID's that play fine, and some that have this problem, one that works fine has this info:

Audio: 126kbps MPEG Layer-3
Video: 25 f/ps, 139kbps, 16 bit, XVID

one that does not work:

Audio: 110kbps MPEG Layer-3
Video: 23 f/ps, 140kbps, 12 bit, XVID

Would I really be able to tell that it is running at 23 f/ps? I have watched them on my PC and they look fine.

Any Ideas?

Sounds like one is PAL and the other is NTSC. Your PC won't complain but output on TV will be affected.

I have the MVP set to output PAL, I can change it to NTSC as my TV can cope, is there any other way around this problem, as it will mean changing it whenever I swap between playing formats?
