I was watching one channel and recording another on the second tuner. I had 2 shows scheduled to record one after the other on the same channel. My assumption was that since NPVR could do multiple recordings on the same MUX(?) that it would use the same tuner to record both shows, but it wanted the tuner I was watching live TV on. Is that right? Is there a way to modify this behavior? I'm running v2.5.5 right now.

Yes, what you describe should be possible. You'd have to post your logs and tell us when this happened, so we can determine why it didn't happen the way you thought it would.

Did the two recordings have any padding? If yes, should it still work with only one tuner? SageTV needed two then... It's not the same MUX, it's even the same channel *unsure*

When it happens again, I'll get the logs right away. At this point in time details are sketchy... I thought it might just be a simple setting I had wrong. I'm still new to NPVR. Very different from BeyondTV. Some things better. Some things maybe not as good. Other things maybe better but set wrong... :/

Yes the recordings had padding. Default is 2 minutes before and after. If NPVR can do multiple recordings on the same MUX then it shouldn't matter what the padding is.
