I thought I'd post my a video of my experience with the PivosXS in linux and Android, I'd expect the RPi would be about the same. Here is an out-of-date video showing an older UI of my plugin running live tv from NextPVR (720p h264 passthrough AC3 5:1) ATSC is a lightly faster to start, this is from an HDPVR

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-0D-825FUs

I will send some improved video when I have my HDPVR2 running.

I can get it in town for $100-115 CDN and that is a complete unit with remote case etc. On the XBMC forum it is pretty much regarded as the best cheap player right now, but I am sure better ones are coming.

Sorry this is a little off topic but does the XIOS (I assume this is the model and there is not a different XS model?) support DTS and DD passthrough when running XBMC? I was not able to determine this from the Pivos forum. Thanks.
My Plugins: PhotoFilter, MusicMonkey, Windows Desktop Gadget

No sorry AC3, DTS and DTS MA core pass through only. Although good for a PVR it is not quite a full blown media extender, since is struggles with things like the bird screen and DVD iso (using the software player) but surprisingly it does play the 10 bit h264 samples I have. I am hoping that the announced XBMC for the Sigma Design SMP8656 will be the general PVR+extender solution that doesn't involve WMC people have been looking for.

Back to HD audio that is really new in XBMC too and AE (the Audio Engine( is going to be part of Frodo like XBMC PVR integration, so for the machines that can handle it things are quite bright.

I see this has been moved the the X-NEWA forum, I guess because of the demo video. but the Pivos player is now fully supported in the Frodo mainline, but sub's NextPVR support is not in the mainline yet. Once it is I will post another video that will hopefully move this back on topic.

Hi first time poster. I downloaded this addon, have it working with xbmc eden on a windows pc not a problem, however on a Pivos xios DS running eden as well I looks like it is connecting/connected to my database, but no recording come up and the tv guide fails to download. The xbmc log doesn't tell me much,

No x-newa runs on Eden. How many channels do you have configured?

Thanks. Could you check to make sure your time zone and date are correct on the Pivos? Also make sure that your try 1.2.3 and if that doesn't work in NextPVR add a channel group.

The date and time on my pivos is set to US western time. I've tried to set it to sydney australia, but it resets when i reboot it. I'll try this and also the 1.2.3 update and channel group.
