Extend End time seemed the correct thing, I extended the show to 10:45, then I checked it after I updated the show, and it seemed OK, but it didn't work. The black text is the actual show that was too short, the blue clip from NEWA is just an example.

Should I have used Pad rather than extend?

Was the event in the process of being recorded when you selected to extend the end time.....or did you do it in advance and if advance how far in advance?

Nope. It was about 1 or 2 hours ahead. I did the extend action around 8am while anothe program was being recorded (7am~9am), then the program I was trying to extend went from 9am to 10:30 and I wanted to extend to 10:45.

I am guessing that an EPG update occured between when you extended and when it actually started. With NPVR the pad only works when the even is in progress or you are certain an EPG update isn't going to run.....NPVR dumps and reloads everything when the EPG update runs and will reset the end-time to the original end time. I added extend capability to NEWA and it really isn't a NPVR feature. Padding on the other hand is an NPVR feature and does survive an EPG update.

You may be right, my EPG is set for around 10am IIRC. So many things to remember when scheduling :-)

I will see what I can implement to protect the Extend to limit it use to when a recording is running or it will start prior to the next EPG update.

Hi UJB - was this feature implemented please?

Apparently not.... I remember the post....but checked code and I never did anything with it.

Try the attached....it should now only let you see the extend option if the recording is already in-progress or if the epg update has run today. If the event is not on the same day as the epgupdate (i.e. a pending recording for tomorrow) you will not see it.

Edit: I updated the code to be more accurate and give a broader range of being able to use extend. Extend will be available so long as the start time of the event is > 10 minutes past the current days scheduled epgupdate and the start time is less then the next scheduled epgupdate.
