TV Guide Selection Dependent Schuling

When setting up a recurring recording from the TVGuide, the exact programs that are scheduled is dependent upon the from which episode the setup of the recording is done.

In my testing the program is aired at 3:00 PM Monday-Saturday. I did my testing on Wednesday 7 November, so there are program is to be aired 7-10, 12-17 and 19 November. When I setup the recording on 7 November episode, all of the episodes are recorded. When I setup the recording on the 8 November, the 7 November episode is not scheduled.

I this the expected behavior. I am wondering about the reason for this behavior.

Is this not a good thing?

The new series of Homeland recently began airing. The channel celebrated its imminent arrival by re-running all of the episodes of the previous series with the last episode of the last series on the day before the first episode of the new series.

I can setup a recurring recording using the first episode of the new series without catching any episodes of the last series.

Recently I have been taking the word ALL too literally :-) I was expecting ALL to be all for the programs in the schedule. In the case ALL is all the programs from this point forward. For me the behavior was unexpected but I do now see the where this is a very handy functionality.
