I can easily add an option to rename to title.subtitle if there is no season/episode info if you'd like.

Hi Martin,

I have been using your great tool to rename my NextPVR .ts files into a naming format that works well with XBMC. For the most part, all renaming is going well. With that said, I do have an issue with The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I suspect that the problem is related to the fact that you look up based upon the recorded date verse the episode subtitle or even the original air date. The issue comes by the fact that these two shows air after midnight for me, so using the recorded date won't work. If this is the case, is there any way to change the logic to use either subtitle or the original error date to find the episode information, if the record date is not found?

The following is the conversion log:

Your log shows it doing what I think it is supposed to do and that is use the original air date if it can. I got that from the Plex wiki http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/Media_...Show_Shows and I assume it is the same for XBMC. If you could ask for clarification on how these should be named on the XBMC forum, I can look at changing the logic.

Give this a shot, it has a new option --subtitle that will rename files to name.subtitle notation. Without --rename that will be the format used for all files, with --rename or --season it will only be used when a better name isn't available.

Yep I over-reacted in regard to the file name structure. XBMC parsed it fine. I was thrown as i had never seen that format before.

Is there a combination of switches that would rename the file to "name.S##E##.subtitle" (or similar) and also create the .nfo file? I'm trying to cover all file access possibilities I can think of - if I access the files using a method that shows me only the filename, I want as much info as possible, but I also want the .nfo for possibile future use with XBMC or something similar.

minor bug with the latest version from post #25:

used this command line: "c:\program files\npvr\imageGrabLite.exe" --oid %3 --nfo --subtitle --zap2it

ran test recording of "Let's make a deal" which turned out to not have a subtitle and the resulting name was:
F:\Recordings\Lets Make a Deal\Let's Make a Deal.S01E341..ts

You probably didn't intend to have a double period there. Also, I guess if I didn't specify --rename, shouldn't it have simply not renamed it if it couldn't find a subtitle?

Here's your log output:

I really only planned on --subtitle to be used on it's own so for now don't use it with --nfo. The attached should stop the rename when you have an nfo file. The dot with the extension is from the file system and the dot at the end of S#E#. expected so no bug there, it just shouldn't have been trying to rename.

If iGL is able to rename them with --rename, there is a strong chance the file will be scraped by XBMC so the NFO is redundant. You could add a second run of iGL with the --nfo option if you'd want it on all files.\

looking very good so far. many tx.

would really prefer it without the trailing "." when there is no subtitle. can you not instead prefix "." to subtitle where subtitle <>"" ? (run and duck)
