I seem to remember from the gbpvr days that when you resume from pausing a video or recording you got a small 1/2 second skip backwards. Does npvr still do that and if so, is there a setting in Config.xml for the skip size?

NextPVR doesn't do this. I don't remember GBPVR doing this either, but it's been years since I looked at it.

Would it be too much to ask, perhaps as a delayed Christmas present Wink, for such a function and a setting in config to specify the skip in milliseconds?

Why would you want it to do that?

Because sometimes there is a slight delay before the audio resumes but the video resumes instantly. Just a 250mS backwards jump would do, if the pause occurs in the beginning of a word one sometimes misses what was said.

The reality is that I don't have that sort of control over the skip. You'd end up getting playback from the next or previous iFrame, which could be +/- 2 seconds.

I think this has been requested before in the wishlist area.

The techincal problem I can imagine with doing this would be that if you change position in the video, then video frames won't render until you get to an i-frame. if you skip back only a 1/4 second, you may get well past the pause point before an i-frame comes up. I'm not sure if there's a maximum interval between i-frames, but in a very still sequence I think it could be several seconds. So attempting to skip back on resume would probably have a poor result at times.

(or what sub said, much more quickly than me, as I pondered exact wording....)

Mmm, I see. Well, back to the last I-frame would be better that 20 sec back as it is now (short skip backwards). On the other hand, I could try to set the short skip back to 2 seconds...
