Choosing a capture card

Is hardware decoding on capture cards only for using the card for tv out? Also, is anyone running both an analog and a hdtv card at the same time? I finally got the stuff to put my rig together, just need to get the right capture card now.

There is only one capture card that also has a TV out and hardware decoding. This is the Hauppauge PVR350.

Most modern capture cards have hardware ENcoding, which is used to convert analog video to MPEG2 video with very little hit on your system's CPU.

If you're looking for a good hardware encoder card, go with the Hauppauge PVR150.
