Hi,

I'm looking for a good, NextPVR IR Blaster.
Can anyone recommend?

All i need it so NextPVR can switch channels on my Cable Top Box.
Is it possible? Which is the best one?

TIA,
Ran.

What tuner card do you have? If you have a tuner card that can connect an IR emitter and is supported by npvr, it would be cheapest. If not, the USBUIRT is a very versatile blaster that can also be used for remote receiver.

In that case an USBUIRT in combination with HIP would be your best choice in my opinion. That is if you run windows on your computer, if so, what windows are you running, and what computer configuration are you running (laptop, desktop? Processor speed etc)?

Laptop, Dual Core I5, Windows 7.
Might replace to Desktop someday, right now this is it.

Provided it has enough RAM it should be no problem. Another advantage with USBUIRT/HIP is that you can use any IR based remote to control npvr. You'll have to learn HIP the buttons of your STB remote for blasting and whatever remote you use for controlling npvr, if you wish to do that.

Can you forward me to a proper HIP? I've found USBUIRT website, but what is HIP?

Last Question, if i may,
Should i Purchase USBUIRT, then install HIP?
is USBUIRT the only one? aren't there are brand ones?

There are other blasters, the MCE is one of them. In fact I have tried an MCE blaster but never got it to work, maybe my bad but nevertheless, none is as versatile as the USBUIRT. You can install HIP before you get the USBUIRT but it won't be of much use. You'll need a small program called USBUIRTSend.exe to control the blaster.
