Good Morning!

I have been trying to get NPVR v2.5.9 R2 working with XBMC v12 using the latest NPVR PVR Plugin v1.6.4.

The first issue I ran into is there is a problem in NPVR's GUI in the Settings menu where it appears that the contents of the form are getting cut off. I did a clearn install and took screen captures, then upgraded the files in R2 and took additional captures to show the difference. I am not using font scaling in Windows.

As far as XBMC is concerned, the EPG and Live TV works great until I try to change a channel. On very rare occasions it work smoothly, but most of the time it hangs with a buffering message. XBMC and NPVR are both running on the same computer. I did not enable timeshift in the Plug-In to help rule that out. The XBMC log is attached for your reference, and you can see what happens when I switch between two of the same channels... ultimately resulting with messages like these:

ERROR: CDVDVideoCodecFFmpeg:Big Grinecode - avcodec_decode_video returned failure
ERROR: Previous line repeats 3 times.
WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(video)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available
ERROR: CDVDVideoCodecFFmpeg:Big Grinecode - avcodec_decode_video returned failure

Hopefull this will help diagnose the issue! THANKS!

We did have one other user that had this a month or so ago. No one else was able to reproduce it.

Do you have any plugins installed? My theory is that it's caused by the settings screen of one of these.

What capture device are you using?

Can you enable debug logging in XBMC, then reproduce the problem and post the xbmc.log, and NextPVR's web.log and nrecord.log?

Reinstalling NextPVR seems to help http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...g-properly The screen shots don't even show any plugins installed.

I uninstalled NPVR, rebooted, re-installed v2.5.9 (default install, no additional plugins). It is working all good now, thanks!

HRHOMERUN Prime with CableCard. Works great on MythBuntu/XBMC, but would like to use NPVR.

I've attached the nrecord.log and web.log files that correspond to the time when the XBMC log from my original post was taken. I see a suspicious line that might point to the issue:

Unexpected error streaming channel: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Send(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size, SocketFlags socketFlags)
at NShared.Streaming.StreamingHelper.StreamNative(Socket conn, Dictionary`2 parameters)

Bear in mind that both XBMC and NPVR are on the same computer, so there should be no networking issues between the two. Only the HDHR is on the network.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks, Martin. This was a fresh re-install, then upgraded to R2. Everything was stock.

Okay, well somehow after reinstalling for the third time the PVR feature seems to be working really well in XBMC! Thank you for all your hard work developing NPVR and the plug-in!

If I run into any issues I'll let you know. Otherwise you can consider my issues closed! Big Grin

I have the same symptoms with the same versions. Is there any interest in me capturing debug output troubleshooting? If not I will reinstall and see if that resolves.
