Hvr 1250

Hello all. I have an HVR 1250 and was wondering if the Hauppauge ir blaster is what i should buy to control it. Also is it possible to watch an analog channel on the host and client at the same time? I am using a dn receiver and have everything set up but the channel changing. Should I buy another card? Thanks for any help in advance.

The IR Blaster is an infrared transmitter. If I understand your situation you want to use the 1250 to record Dishnet satellite TV. If that's right the IR Blaster would allow NextPVR to change the channel on the Dishnet receiver so you can record it. Your Dishnet receiver connects to the audio and video inputs on the 1250. You have to have the Dishnet receiver on the channel you are recording, therefore you can not watch a channel different from the one you are recording.

The 1250 will only record standard definition from your receiver. If you have high def Dishnet and want to record it you need something like Hauppauge's HD PVR or Colossus.

As far as controlling the 1250 if you didn't get a 1250 kit with a remote you can by a USB IR receiver and remote.
