Trying to upgrade to 2.6.2. Almost immediately get stopped by an "Error opening file for writing" error on NRecord.exe. I'm an admin on this machine (I'm the only user!), so what's going wrong?
Yes, I know I gotta shut that stuff down -- and I did (I think). NTray's the thing running in the system tray, down by the clock, right? 'Cause I closed all of those things (including two instances of SageGraphRecorder).
In that case, with the service stopped, just delete nrecord.exe and re-run the installer. SGraphrecorder would only need to be stopped if you are using sub's TS Writer in your graph.
Yeah, I've tried to delete nrecord.exe. Windows so very helpfully tells me that nrecord.exe is open in NPVR Recording Service. What's this recursive nonsense?? Clearly it's not strictly an NPVR problem, but I have no idea how it's come about, nor how to fix it. I love computers, but I f***ing hate computers, know what I mean??
but you have to stop the service. in the NPVR group on the Start menu, there's a shortcut "Stop NPVR Recording Service". Click that. Once it's stopped, bring up the Task Manager and verify there's no instance of NRecord, NTray, NextPVR, or NDigitalHost still running.

Checking in Task Manager did it -- thanks! I guess I closed the tray and thought that would stop the service. But Task Manager confirmed that I assumed wrong. Up and running on 2.6.2!
