Both video decoders in NextPVR are set to disabled with no dropdown options, so I get sound but no vision in Live TV. Ant tips?

If you're on Win 8, the video decoders that Microsoft includes cannot be used with 3rd party apps like NPVR. You'll have to install a decoder. Check on this forum for the SAF decoder project by Hoborg.

there is a patch to re-enable the Microsoft decoder for h.264 video. you'll still need other decoders for mpeg-2 and audio. check the sticky thread at the top of the support forum (and linked in my signature) for both the patch and a link to the SAF package.

Thanks... Have installed the patch files into npvr directory, and been able to set the h264 video decoder, however, still only sound and no picture. The saf decoder download is apparently not for W8.

That probably means you have MPEG-2 video rather than h.264, so you will need 3rd party decoders. SAF works great for me on Win8.

Yes, it'll be MPEG2 in Australia.
