I think my pvr-350 is stuck and will not release after a recording. I don't get Live TV as I get "Unable to communicate with the recording service". Also, if I try a manual recording, it never starts recording, although I was able to record a couple of programs before it stopped. I have WinTV7 and that still shows live TV. I have log files & hope that someone can take a look.

One more thing, in a previous post, some one mentioned a Config.XML file and I never found one in a NextPVR directory. Is this ok?

Can you reboot, then reproduce it again and repost the logs?

"NPVR Service" was probably not running since NRecord logs are older than NPVR logs. Don't forget that rebooting will cause "HauppaugeTVServer" to restart, unless you have managed to disable it.

It's generally ok to have HauppaugeTVServer running. It's only a problem with the oldest cards - PVR250/350 (and maybe PVR150/500...not sure about those). All cards since then allow multiple processes to access the device at the same time.

Hi, I got the PVR-350 unstuck temporarily, however after I record a program (man-rec), I don't get LiveTV. I tried stopping the "Hauppauge TV Server" but this did not help. I'm attaching the log files & I hope that someone can take a look at them. thanks

As before, the NRecord logs are older than the NPVR logs. "NPVR Service" was stopped the last few times you opened NextPVR. Live TV involves the recording of temporary buffer files, therefore "NPVR Service" must be started (after first ensuring that "HauppaugeTVServer" is stopped). Click on "Start," select "Programs," open "NPVR" folder and run "Start NPVR Service." But first, maybe you should go to the Settings -> Decoders page and make sure that decoders have been enabled for MPEG2 Video and MPEG1 Audio. Not knowing what other decoders might be present on your system, I would suggest MainConcept for MPEG2 Video and Hauppauge for MPEG1 Audio.

After checking decoders and starting "NPVR Service," you might find that you don't have a problem after all - but if live TV still doesn't work, post logs right away without opening NextPVR several more times.

You may also try to run Nrecord in a command prompt to get a clue of why it is stopping. Make sure the recording service is stopped, open a command prompt window, change to "C:\program Files" (or Program Files (x86)" if you run 64bit windows) and enter Nrecord RUN (it is important that RUN is in capital letters). Now start NextPVR and try to view live tv. You'll see the output from Nrecord in the command window.

I executed Nrecord RUN from c:\program files\Npvr, however it did not display any results when I tried to use LiveTV. I got the "unable to communicate with recording service" message.

It looks like it's struggling to set the capture resolution. After the next release I'll be able to give you a patch to disable that temporarily, to see if sticking with the default resolution helps.
