I am running an Asus Pundit with 2.6 Celeron, 200gig seagate, 500 ddr and a Haup.350

I can watch and record tv on the Win tv 2000 software that comes with the haup. but when I try to watch tv on the GB software the whole computer locks up within about 1 second of starting. The configuration seems to run fine and I can surf the menu. Lock up only starts when I try to watch.

I tried Beyond TV and it causes the lockup immediately upon starting the software during the splash screen.

I am not using the tvout on the Haup. I am using the onboard video out and the Haup as a tuner only.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I uninstalled all the software and the drivers for the pvr-350. I then inistalled the latest pvr 350 drivers and a fresh copy of GB-pvr.

I can record from GB-pvr but when I try to play live tv OR a recording.........complete freeeeeze up, requiring a hard reboot.

Here are a couple of logs. I don't know if they are usefull but the system event logs show no errors or warnings

I'm 3 months into trying to get a PVR running. I spent 2.5 months trying to get MythTv up and finally gave up.

Any help would be more than appreciated!

I have a similar problem on live TV and playback of recordings. The video doesn't display on my computer screen, which is correct. At least I don't think it displays on the screen, I don't have a screen mounted. It didn't a couple of months ago with an earlier version of GB-PVR, installed the same way.

The problem is that the playback is unstable, and freezes the computer randomly, not too often though. Too much skipping and fast forwarding during playback increases the chance of pc freeze, after which I must hard reboot by cutting power.

I will try to switch to overlay and see if that helps, but sub said that the setting is ignored if you're using Hauppauge hardware decoder, which I do. It is selected in the config.

I'm having similar issues with playback freezing after installing v 0.91.5 and then rebooting my system.  I tried different video options VMR9, VMR7 and Overlay but the video freezes after a second or so.  I think it might be freezing on the Restart/Resume screen.

My next step is to reinstall the PVR-250 drivers and try to install from scratch again.

Can someone tell me what the differences between VMR9, VMR7 and Overlay are?  I think I used Overlay on version .23 to get it to work and then VMR9 on version .90 to get it to work.  Just confused ...

My wife is not impressed to say the least!

I'm in IT Support and I should know better than making changes to a Production system on the fly. And the last upgrade went so well...

What I need is a test system!

Has a fix been found? I'm having the same problem after upgrading to v.91.05. Pressing "Back/Exit" or "Stop" when watching a recording works fine but not when watching Live TV.

I guess we're in the same boat. My wife's not to happy with my upgrading the PVR either. [Image: sad.gif]

I have experienced the same thing and pressing 'menu' rather than 'stop' seems to work fine for me (I have the 45 button hauppauge remote)...

...but I then had to explain to the wife "don't press stop to stop, press menu to stop and it should stop". Nearly as fun as the 'trayicon' conversation -

me> that means it's loaded
wife>... and recording
me> no, it's not recording at the moment
wife> it is - it's red.
me> no, green is record.
wife> what?? red means record. everyone knows that! why is green record?
me> errm..... this one goes upto eleven.

Oh well [Image: smile.gif]

red = off
green = on

it means the capture source is in use.
