"TV Listings.dll" is causing NPVR to crash on startup.

I am new to NextPVR, having only installed it yesterday. So it's likely that I am doing something wrong, as I have found no one else with this particular problem.

NPVR has been working fine for the past day, but I found the TV guide to be rather anemic. So I attempted to install the "TV Listing" plug-in by copying the the appropriate files into the data folder. Once I did, and then restarted NPVR, I received an "Unhandled exception" dialog box from "Microsoft .NET Framework" before the NPVR screen even opened. Here is what is says:

If I try to close this dialog box, it reappears immediately. I cannot even shut down NPVR at this point, without going into Task-Manager.

Now, if I then delete the "TV Listings.dll" from the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\Plugins\TV Listings" folder, NPVR starts up normally and works fine. If, rather than deleting it, I rename it to anything else (keeping the .dll extension), I receive the same unhandled exceptions. So it appears NPVR is crashing when trying to load the DLL file from the "plugins" folder during startup.

I tried re-downloading, in case the first download was corrupted, but no joy.

My configuration:

I think you probably need to update .NET 20 to a newer service pack.

Thanks so much for the prompt reply. And let me add thanks for a truly wonderful piece of software. I'm not just buttering you up (if you believe that).

I had assumed that a program would check the .NET requirements upon instalation, but I now realize that plugins have no installation, prior to NPVR loading them. But I thought that I had read that you are now running on .NET 4, and my .NET 4 is up to date (last I checked).

In any case, my .NET 2 is at SP1, so I am currently downloading SP2. We will know in a while . . .

A while has past, and service-pack 2 for .NET 2.0 (why is it still 2.0 after two service packs?) has indeed fixed the problem. Who'd-of-thunk. Martin, was there some indication that .NET 2.0 was out-of-date? Or was your answer based on having experienced the issue before?

It was clearly an error in .NET so first I checked that TV Listing didn't need 3.5 and then a search for : Method not found: 'Boolean System.Threading.WaitHandle.WaitOne(Int32)' was easy.

For developers going from .NET 2.0 to 2.1 is a framework change so it is more difficult. If users do the recommended updates, service packs work.
