Cant play video ndroid TE

just tried TE for the first time, and jumping right in without reading any of the threads. Apologies if this has been covered.
I can play TV no probs on ndroid, but can't on ndroid TE - I just get a can't play this video pop-up.
Latest service installed, and all other things equal I think. logs attached.

Is this from the Recordings view or the Media -> Videos view in the nDroid TE app? Also what media player app are you using on your Android device?

I'm just selecting a current program from the now and next tv guide. although just tried recordings and getting the same scenario.
I'm using MX player in ndroid. In TE I'm not getting an option to select a player through now and next, although recordings is giving me the option and I'm choosing MX player.

Media -> videos seems to be working though. (for the same file that is failing in recordings)

When you get the option, have you tried ticking the box to use this player for all files of this type?

OK, looks similar to previous reports of playback working from Videos but not from Recordings. Hopefully it's fixed for next version. Playing TV from now/next is a different issue though. I'll take a closer look.

I'm not getting the option; ndroid (old) gives me the once/always pop up, TE now/next gives me no choice (defaulting I think to MX player) and fails, TE recordings gives me a one-time-only option(which I chose MXplayer and it fails), and media ->videos gives me no choice but works (again with MX player I think)

What device and Android version are you using?

Samsung galaxy s2 gti9100 4.2.2 cyanogenmod 10.1

Hmm OK. Custom ROMs add a level of unpredictability though I'm not sure the cyanogenmod version would be the problem. I'll be publishing a new version of TE soon which has some changes to playback of live tv and recordings.
