Hi guys-

I moved to 3.1.1 to help with some issues I saw under the earlier release related to liveTV. No comskip or anything else running on liveTV.

-Under 3.1.1, pressing back/exit on the hauppauge remote sometimes locks nextpvr with "please wait", sometimes hitting the back/exit on the remote a second time will exit from whatever loop it is in, and bring me to main menu.

-Under 3.1.1, watching liveTV while a recording is in process will work for a while and then just fail out to main menu. If I try to play the recording, it will get to the same timepoint and then exit back to main menu. No comskip running on liveTV. And comskip won't run from postprocessing.bat so that shouldn't be the issue. : )

The only way I have found out of this liveTV /recording issue is to reboot, cancel the recording, reboot, cancel recording AGAIN (as it still shows red/recording), reboot, and then I can watch liveTV (with no recording being made).

I'll upload logs once my wife gets done watching a program just now, but NextPVR still is not meeting WAF. And I've been running it a year, and can't really rely on it yet : (. Am I the only one?

Win7/ 1600/ no add-ins.

How was GBPVR's support for the 1600? I had the 350 when I was using GBPVR.

Thanks!

Brian.

Neither of these are issues I've seen reported by other users. Your best bet is probably to reproduce them, then post the logs so I can take a look.

Lots of people run comskip from PostProcessing.bat, so you must have something wrong in your batch file. Do you have it in the correct location? ie C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts. If you have got it in the correct location, zip and attach the batch file, and we'll check it out.

Ok, will play with repeating the back/exit issue.

liveTV issue may be related to free disk space...

comskip, I'll sanity check then send up the .bat. Thanks

Possibly related (?), I'm having severe issues with LiveTV when a second LiveTV stream is started.

I usually stream from clients using XBMC and the NPVR plugin. 2.6.2 was rock solid at this. I didn't have any issues for... gee, I can't remember any. It was not uncommon for my two HD-PVRs to stream to clients for literally all day, non-stop on a single channel, with no issue.

All that changed with 3.1.1. Once someone tries to watch Live TV on a second device, that session is doomed. It is only a matter of time (sometimes minutes) before:

- the stream gets QUITE jumpy with video pausing (audio remains okay)

- the stream stops with a "tuner no longer available" message. You can often restart after waiting a minute or so.

or

- the entire XBMC interface is frozen.

The same happens with XNEWA streaming the "1.0" way, or the new touch interface.

Interestingly, whoever was "first" seems to have no issues at all.

Recordings are just fine when single or dual tuners are in play.

Logs attached.

just tested here with live tv on server, live tv on pc client using a different tuner (all npvr, no 3rd party clients), and live tv failed on both after 15 minutes or so; both got the message "the tuner you were using was needed for a recording" popup, but no recordings were actually scheduled or in-progress.

Logs from both attached.

looks like the client stream just stopped here with no error:
Code:

and the server-side stream died here:

@johnsonx42 with is your slip seconds set to. Your problem sounds like the problem I reported in testing on EPG Mode files stopping at the end the slip time instead of the end of the show.

My current NPVR box is recently built anew, and I'm about 99% sure SlipSeconds is set to the default.

edit: yes, just double-checked in registry, slipseconds setting has not been added.

Just giving this a gentle nudge up. Still a problem for me. I may revert to the previous version over the weekend for family harmony if it's not a obvious patch.

If you disable XBMC PVR in both clients and stream from each client using x-newa touch, I can see if the streams show anything. Right now I am running and HDPVR and an 1080i stream simultaneously with no issue.

Thanks for the offer Martin. I didn't have time to do this.

Given that my install is ages old with updates on top of updates, and with almost no reports of the same thing, plus a slow Friday at work, I've decided to clean house via VNC. I plan to do a clean install while everyone is away and just copy over my db and the post/preprocessing bats. It's very likely I have a component of an age-old plugin in the old install or something similar causing this.
