Thanks for viewing the thread, and any advice you can give. Here's my situation (specs first):

OS: Server 2008 R2 (Dedicated machine for this PVR purpose)
- Desktop Experience feature added
- Hack/batch for BDA devices used
- Direct X web redist installed
- VLC installed
- Shark007 Codec Pack installed (ffmpeg used for most decoders)
Core 2 Quad, 8GB RAM, Nvidia Chipset, Quadro FX3800, Dual Gigabit Ethernet (might team them later)
Tuners:
HDHR Prime (w/Cisco Cable Card from TWC)
Asus EHD3100 (not connected to cable yet)
Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (not connected to cable yet nor detected by NPVR)

Please let me know if any of the prior installed software is unnecessary and I'll gladly remove it. So I've set up NPVR 3.1.1 and gotten the HDHR detected, as DCR-2650, and the channels populated. Using the OTA EPG for now. No plugins except TV Guide, Live TV, Recordings, and Search on the server client. Planning on Using XBMC as the remote clients with the NextPVR plugin. I've set a CNAME in DNS to point "TV" to the PVR Server, so for all entries I use TV as the host name. I've specifically shared the NPVR, Record and Temp folders for read only to authenticated users, so clients can see and connect to \\TV\*folder*. I've allowed, both receive and transmit, all of the .exe required and even a couple extra trough the firewall.

The issue I ran into that I can't seem to get past is two part I think, but maybe two parts of the same thing. First is that I can't seem to get clients to receive the stream from NPVR, even the client on the server doesn't seem to be able to get the stream. I see in Status that the Device starts a *.ts and the Tray icon turns red, but in about 30 sec it stops and the icon goes to normal again. I've attached logs from a couple attempts. The second issue is the web guide doesn't populate any TV Guide data.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Can you view live TV on your NextPVR server machine itself? ie, no clients or streaming

I am only connecting through Windows Remote Desktop, but I'll attach some hardware to test it.

It's definitely worth confirming it on the machine before adding complications like clients etc.

Looks like the answer is no, lol. I tried through the HDHR QuickTV app, and just a black screen, and no streaming light is added to the HDHR box.. Would you know what would cause this behavior?

Edit: I don't have any sound devices installed n the Server, would this cause an issue?

Possibly - I'm not sure though.

I have no personal experience with Time Warner, but they have a reputation for flagging most channels as copy-once. I suggest that you focus your testing on local stations and double-check firewall exceptions, especially for NextPVR and NRecord. It's important that the exceptions match the network location setting currently in use, i.e. Public or Private.

I'm kind of holding my head in hands on this one. And saying 'why' 'why' why'?

Are you honestly saying that you, as a new user, have plumped right in there trying to do something so complex? I see no problem with your end solution but wouldn't it be better to start with the basic's?

My network is an MS domain, and thanks i've matched all the rules. Actually sub's suggestion brought me to the focal point of the problem. It seems my issue comes down to Server 2008 R2 not receiving/playing/connecting the stream from the HDHR box.. :-( So now I'm trying to figure out all the hacks/tricks that make that work.

lol... Hey what can I say I'm THAT kind of guy. But hey it's an educated attempt, I'm an IT Tech/Net Admin/Uber PC nerd who has major server equipment in my domicile.. This isn't that complex in the things that i start and finish remotely.. Though admittedly this issue turns out that I need to directly connect to the machine Sad Which sucks cause the rack isn't that easily accessible.

You actually don't need BDA components for HDHR Prime with CableCard (unless you resort to ATSC/QAM tuning), but check your NPVR log to see if the graph filter list includes (Microsoft's) MPEG-2 Demultiplexer, or look for an entry like this: [DEBUG][1] FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: MPEG-2 Demultiplexer (You only posted NRecord and Web logs.)
