I had the odd experience of seeing some freshly recorded re-runs showing as "Watched" with resume positions set when it was impossible that anyone had watched the shows. At first I was really puzzled, then realized that because all my shows are now renamed by imageGrabLite, the new recording has the same name as the last time it was recorded a few months ago, so it picked up the same PLAYBACK_POSITION record leftover from before. With default naming of course this is generally impossible since no two recordings could ever have the same name.
I had a peek in the PLAYBACK_POSITION table in my database, and found 3922 records. The first ones are from June 27, 2010, the day I installed NPVR 1.5.21.
So clearly these records aren't deleted when the recording is deleted. Should they be? Any reason they shouldn't be deleted? Any downside to having nearly 4000 records.... what about several years on when I have 10,000 records, or 20,000?
A) should NPVR delete the PLAYBACK_POSITION record when a recording is deleted? I vote yes.
B) is there a command to dump my whole PLAYBACK_POSITION table so I can start fresh?
