I'm using NPVR 3.1.1. with DVB-S - Hauppauge WinTV 885 ALT BDA Tuner/Demod device. Most of the recordings go fine, but sometimes the whole day long they all fail.
I can't find any errors in the log files (attached). I've got two other computers running the same software and devices. They don't have this problem.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks!

Do you have all of the patches in the sticky post - there were some problems with the epg update hijacking the tuner.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I've installed the patch and will monitor the situation.

Did you set Default Recording Directory on NextPVR's Settings->Recording window? This looks unusual:

2013-11-21 21:59:01.388 [INFO][4] DigitalRecorder.StartStream(\\Mxfserver\Diversen\Opnames\Odysso - Das will ich wissen!\Odysso - Das will ich wissen!_20131121_22002230.ts)

Worse, it looks like no signal:

2013-11-21 21:59:01.450 [DEBUG][4] locked=0, present=0, strength=0, quality=0 (took 0ms to check)

Recording to a network share can also be prone to errors, since network connections are more prone to problems than a local disks. As Zeb said though, it looks like a problem with the device not locking onto a signal.

Sorry for late response.

@dumbest: yes, it reboots every morning at 5:57 am.

@zeb: I also have to other computers running 24/7 recording to this network share. They don't have this problem.

So it's probably the locking into a signal.. Is there anything I can do? The other two systems are running with the same specs, same tunercard, no problems at all!

Some of the hauppauge cards have this problem of not able to see the signal (even when there isn't any problem with the signal) after a bootup or reboot.
This is not the problem of NPVR cos even with other TV softwares, it see no signal too, and have to reboot PC till it see the signal again.

I think nothing much you can do except maybe to disable the auto reboot everyday.
Or swap the card with another PC and see how it goes.

I also have 0kB recordings lately with SD channels only - never happens with HD. Logs [attached] say channel not locked but a restart of Recording service fixes this [until the next SD recording].
