Hello,
I have NextPVR 3.11 running on my XP HTPC. All is working well on this machine coupled with XBMC.
I'm trying to allow my laptop to access NextPVR. I have NextPVR installed on the laptop as well (Win7 home).
Windows 7 can't access the shared folder, some type of permission error. I have several other folder shares on the XP machine and all work fine, and is accessible on the laptop.
The problem seems to be not allowing C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data to be shared. I have windows file share enabled (of course) and simple file/folder sharing disabled. I am sharing the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\NPVR folder, with full access granted. When I type \\192.168.0.10 into file explorer on the laptop, all the other folder shares AND "npvr" show up. However when I try and access "npvr" share I get the error "Windows cannot access blah blah." Naturally of course NextPVR can't access the db file so I get nothing.
So what's the solution? I seem to not have this issue with C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data as I have a couple shares under this path and the Windows 7 machine can access them with no problem (Owner being the default user name). So is there a way to force NextPVR to use a single user App Data folder instead of "All Users." Is there a way to force XP to allow sharing the All Users Application Data folder and any subfolders?
Thanks!
