Is the Genre colouring suppose to work out of the "box" in XBMC when changing/adding them in NextPVR?

I have the colouring working in NextPVR's TV Guide but they wont show up in XBMC, is there as setting or change I have to do? I use NextPVR 3.1.1 and NextPVR PVR Client 1.9.5 in XBMC, thanks in advance and thanks for all the work from everyone involved, great program.

It works with 1.9.6 and Frodo 2.3 but you are responsible for creating the xml file that feeds xbmc if you don't match standard DVB codes exactly. I've written one a more general for North America.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your quick reply, now the next obvious question, how do I do that? The xml file that feeds XBMC? Is that something I have to "tell" XBMC to read or is this feed through the PVR Client? Where can I look at your XML file to figure out the format or could you please give me a pointer where to find this out.
I gather that this is something that I should read up on but where do I start?

Thanks,
Jonas

What EPG source are you using? DVB or XMLTV?

Documentation, dream on. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post457662 If you don't like searching this out via the forums like I did (let me duck duck go that for you https://lmddgtfy.net/?q=xbmc%20genre%20s....gbpvr.com ) Personally I don't even use the XBMC PVR addon.

I get my EPG from the DVB, through my HD homerun tuner.

That combined with XBMC Gotham, and v1.9.5 or higher of the plugin should be all you need to get genre colouring going. You don't need to edit any files or anything.

Can you start xbmc, then zip and attach the web.log?

I don't think so 1.9.6 is the only commit since January. The genre colouring that missed Frodo 12.2 didn't make the Gotham baseline either.

Hope this worked, see attached web.log zip file.

Another funny thing is that I only see one Channel logo in XBMC, it came up after a few days having fiddled with it. When I saw that I renamed and added all channel logos in to NextPVR and I see them in the TVGuide, but in XBMC only the one "Old" logo shows up.

I have tried to Uninstall and reinstall nextPVR, empty the guide in both NextPVR & XBMC, rescanned the channels, ect. but nothing works, I have three different XBMC installations (pc's, android tablet) and they are all showing the same.

Thanks,
J

PS. I do use XBMC Gotham (13.0) from the "Unofficial Windows PVR development builds" due to the faster channel switching, no official builds work as they are really slow, 10+ seconds to change channel, the unofficial one is down to 2 seconds so I hope this problem is not due to this.

PS(2). Martin, I have tried the 12.2 and it is the same, actually got the genre colouring working with MediaPortal so I guess it should work (or if that was 13.0, not sure), but like NextPVR better and would prefer this working instead.

Try Frodo 12.3 http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1537383 and that should tell you if the problem is the plugin or with the DVB genres.
