An email popped out of the woodwork with a mention that a compiled windows binary EPG grabber is updated to include the metabroadcast atlas data. (these are the folk who took over the generation of Radio Times data.
You need an API key to get the data, but this is freely available via email on request (supposedly one day to become a web based request). My key hasn't turned up yet, but hopefully it will not be too much trouble getting the data into npvr.
exe download of the current alpha xmltv.exe Http://alpha-exe.xmltv.org
some info and how to get an API key http://metabroadcast.com/blog/getting-fu...-it-s-easy

Initial configuration is a little tedious with yes/no needed for each channel.

fingers crossed that this will easily replace the slowly shrinking radio times data.

Well it works and seems to have most of the channels that were missing from the radio times data. Channel and show logo links as well. Here's a sample of one entry. Imports directly into npvr.
Code:
<programme start="20131220210000 +0000" stop="20131220213000 +0000" channel="lincolnshire.bbc1.bbc.co.uk">

Those in the presenter's chair over the past few months included David Mitchell, Kathy Burke, Jack Whitehall, Alexander Armstrong, Kirsty Young, Jo Brand, Stephen Merchant, Richard Osman and Martin Clunes. Last in the series.</desc>

Yes I've got it working too - looks some work for Sub though since NPVR would need to support the episode - num system
Currently all repeats would get recorded as well - my Christmas schedules jumped from 53 to 71!
Also I note the icons are jpg so some work for Alibert since TV Listings uses BMP.
Still it's a step in the right direction.
I won't be using it until at least repeats are handled.
