I'm trying to make the change from gbpvr to npvr as the main system, changing PCs and moving from XP to W7 (sigh).

I have copied all my old recordings across, set up a few channels to prove things work and am trying to import the recordings to the database using vidimport.
I use this successfully on yet another server (low power, always on + nas and other servers) to import downloaded shows.

log attached along with an import file of one recording. The failing seems to be this on each recording. I don't have the knowledge to know if this is a vidimport problem or npvr.
Any help appreciated,

Martin

Checking your format with the backup format I don't see your metadata in an event block like this

Code:
<Event>
    <Title>Twist the Throttle</Title>
    <SubTitle>Yamaha</SubTitle>
    <Description>Documentary series. Discover how Japanese giant Yamaha progressed from manufacturing pianos in the 19th century to launching motorcycles through new technology following World War II.</Description>
    <OID>0</OID>
    </Event>

Edit NextPVR NUtility API didn't like <OID />

forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question, but why use vidimport instead of just importing GB-PVR's recording-dump.xml?

I actually tried using the NextPVR -import command line not vidimport and got martin123's error.

right, but why is the other martin bothering with vidimport in the first place? it sounds like he's trying to import recordings that are already in the gb-pvr database.

I suspect he's trying and failing to import a GBPVR recordings-dump.xml into NextPVR using other means.

Wow - forum autosave works and restore as well!

quick clarification.

Using vidimport to generate the import file.
Importing via running npvr and using import from the settings menu.
Importing produces no visible errors and says "nn files imported" but nothing there in recordings and the erros in the logs.
I was using vidimport mainly as the drive letter and root directory has changed and hadn't thought of using the old gbpve exports file and editing the source directory. I will try this shortly.

OK, just tried to import the edited gbpvr exports files and "723 recordings imported"

I shall temporarily ignore the question of why vidimport works on one machine but not the other. And continue with the migration - a very tedious dvb-s2 scan and select of circa 800 channels of crap and inputting 80-odd blaster numbers for teh STB (sigh).
