I have a BD-F5900 when I pause Live TV is there a time limit on the amount of pause I can have? I have not timed it yet but when watching the football game I paused the TV washed the kids came back, everything looked good pressed play and NPVR restarted. Today when I got home my wife stated she had the same problem. Is there a fix for this or do I need to change a setting? I can not skip forward or back in Live TV either? Is this related to the pause feature?

Is there a guide to tell me what buttons do what on the remote?

By the way I love the way everything is working.

All NextPVR clients have a problem pausing for long periods especially when EPG mode isn't enabled. I'm hoping that sub extends this mode to all clients, but reven will have to answer how this might works on the Samsung API.

Unrelated and not available to http streaming PC and NMT clients only. From sub's release notes

Quote:- changes to timeshift buffer. You can now choose if the rolling segments are based on time or the epg. If it's set to 'epg based', then pressing 'record' will keep the buffer and add it as a record. If you're set to 'time based', then it'll behave as per previous releases.

It would buffer the scheduled part of the football game, as an example.

Would that be "Unrelated and not available to http streaming." But EPG is available for PC and NMT clients

It's unlikely to be related to the live tv buffer method that Martin mentions above.

It's likely you either paused for more than the default 20 minute pause buffer, or XBMC dropped the connection while paused, causing NextPVR to free the device. Adding support for the new EPG-based live tv buffer files wouldn't have made any difference to this.

EPG mode can buffer a whole show, and doesn't have the rolling file segments that eventually cause grief for me when paused or seeking on all clients that I have. I do agree the Samsung API may not support seeking on live files and is also the likely cause of problems under two minutes.

i have actually implemented this yet, hence theres no timeline for live tv and you cant skip forward/backward. this area is a little tricky, knowing what you're actually watching (cant use the time, because you could of paused a show, a new show has started but you're currently watching the old show) and ill probably have to poll nextpvr to tell it to keep the stream alive.

this is somewhat low priority, and im more concerned with getting the recordings stuff and search stuff finished off. i dont think ill have timeshift support in the final 1.00 release.

Work around is hit record then start watching it so if you need a long pause hit the stop button and pick it back up where you left off. Nice thing about this using xbmc In just delete it when done.
