Hi NextPVR pros.

I am trying to find an Gotham Beta image for my RPI's with a functioning NextPVR add on.

I have tried a few Openelec images with the new Gotham Beta on the RPI & have had no success. I get a tuner error message & it times out when trying to access live TV. All other functions like EPG, Recordings etc work as they should. I have tried to uninstall & re install the add on but I receive the error some dependencies are not met contact the app developer.

I have an AMD fusion pc successfully running Openelec 3.95.1 (the disk image file worked with the installer but the manual update didn't). After seeing the fruits of Gotham & Next PVR I am keen to get the RPI's up to speed.

Can anyone send a link to a working image or method to get it up & running. I prefer the Gotham XBMC as the advancements of PVR scheduling it excellent & suits the low power RPI.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Any "normal" Gotham alphas and now the beta should have working PVR addons If the changelog says 1.9.6 you have the correct version. You can't really install it manually unless you compile your own.

Hi Martin.
I have tried the;
[Diskimage] OpenELEC Beta - Raspberry Pi ARM 3.95.1
OpenELEC Beta - Raspberry Pi ARM 3.95.1
& yesterdays daily build (OpenELEC).

The PVR Add on is showing 1.9.6 in the change log.

All three seem to fail the live TV function but connect fine with the other functions. I am just hoping someone can point me to an image that functions correctly. I am assuming there is an error in the compiling of these images which cause a hiccup with the NextPVR add on.
It doesn't have to be OpenELEC.

Has anyone got an RPI working with Gotham beta? & can you point me in the right direction?

I've got the same issue with Gotham beta1/OpenElec 3.95.1 on raspberry pi. Same as you all functions work except live tv. I got around it this morning by scheduling a recording for the channel I was trying to watch and then playing back the file directly (I could start playback from "recordings" but as soon as playback caught up to the original end of file when playback started playback would stop which hasn't been a problem for me anymore on two normal pc's also running openelec).

I don't have logs yet and won't be able to get any tonight but if no one has any solutions before I check tomorrow I'll see if I can capture some logs to post.

I noticed some oddities using OpenELEC Beta - Raspberry Pi ARM 3.95.1 :

Live tv does not open stream the first time you click on a channel to view after booting/rebooting the RPI. I get a 'Tuner unavailable message'. You must press STOP and click the channel again. It will then start playing but it will play then buffer for split second then play/pause/buffer over and over again. I've found that if I pause for about two seconds then the video plays just fine. The tuner unavailable message stays on the screen for a long time before eventually going away.

It is comforting to know I am not the only one.

Thank you for the tips dinki & morbo1980 but I don't think my wife or kids will be to impressed with anything other than click to play.

I guess Gotham is not quite there for the RPI. It seems very very close. I have rolled back to OpenELEC 3.2.4 for the moment until I know of a Gotham image that works.

Last night I tried various daily builds of RASPMC with no luck either. There must be something with the ARM based builds that breaks the NEXTPVR Add on. I hope it's an easy fix for the nextprv developers.

If you can post some logs morbo1980 I am sure it would be helpful in diagnosing what is going wrong.

Thanks for your help so far.

Nope, I am using ARM based builds of Gotham beta on i.MX6 and there are no problems with live tv. If there is a problem it is the RPi (which doesn't surprise me) or the implementation

I did a run tonight with debug logging turned on in XBMC. This is the first time ive done any logging of XBMC so hopefully I've included everything needed.

The run I did was...
Turn on raspberry pi
Select "Home" profile
Go to Live TV -> Channels
Select channel "7 Digital"
-- get error "Tuner no longer available". This keeps flashing up on the screen
-- a moment later the progress bar shows at the top of the screen saying buffering. Doesn't get past this point
Press Stop on the remote
Try to select the same channel again
-- same error and progress bar as above
Exit live tv section
Go to Live TV -> Recordings
Select a file recorded yesterday from the same channel as above (My Kitchen Rules)
-- video plays normally
Press Stop on the remote

If there is anything else you need let me know.

Hi morbo1980 thank you for your help mate (Small world fellow Melburnian). Hopefully someone like mvallevand & or other senior gurus can troll through this & get an idea on what is going on with the RPI builds.

Can you enable debug logging in XBMC, and reproduce the problem again and repost the logs?
