Also I have a couple of issue with client.

1. Decoder
x264 HD live-tv will not play video with LAV decoder (works fine in mpc-hc) I get a black screen and and only audio. NPVR is still somewhat responsive, but the popup miniepg (up key) does not show up either. Same channel plays and behave fine with microsoft codec. Also mpg2 (sd) plays and behave fine with LAV.

2. Renderer (LIVE-TV)
Madvr has some issues, even though NPVR is in window mode it draws fullres content, so only part of the video is visible. So there is a missmatch NPVR is only showing part of the tv content, this allso apply to miniepg that is rendered mostly outside the window. If I scale window size with mouse video is also scaled to fit inside npvr window, but miniepg is not scaled and stay mostly outside of view. Actually Madvr playback is not smooth at all so it seems it's not a good match for NPVR.

Don't use MadVR, it does not work with npvr, also lav h.264 does not work, use Cyberlink (from SAF). That should solve most of your problems Smile

Really wish madvr would work, and I'd rather not install SAF now. I will do some more testing.

Is it possible to tweak the timeout for the NPVR backend before it stops streaming? If I open a stream with mpc-hc most of times mpc-hc is so slow to start playback that backend stops the stream.

Strictly, you don't need SAF to run the Cyberlink decoder, download the trial version of PDVD ad grab the directory named "Video decoder", register the .ax files manually, but don't register the divx decoder in there, it sucks.

Thanks for suggestion, it seems powerdvd13 does not work either. I'm getting same result as with LAV, only audio and nPVR stay black on everything but right click.

this discussion should have been in the support forum. That said, what render are you using? Can you play the HD recordings with VLC?

There is nothing new in relationship to 3.2 about this - it hasn't worked in previously releases either. It relates to the LAV decoder being incompatible with the Microsoft MPEG-2 Demultiplexer filter. The demux is supplying chunks of data from the H.264 stream. The decoder is expecting these chunks to be split at certain boundary points, but the demux isn't doing that. Unfortunately I have no control over these two items, so not something I can directly fix.

Don't use this video renderer with NextPVR, it performs badly. It's only still there as an option because I haven't got around to removing it.
