Is there any way to create a 2nd tuner for IPTV?

I have a HDHR Plus and only one IPTV device is listed.

Thanks.

As I understand it, multirecording should be possible via IPTV, but it doesn't seem to work (yet).

You don't need a second IPTV device listed. It can access all the channels defined by the single one at the same time.

I think your problem was more related to what you were trying to connect to at the other end.

So for an HDHR with three tuners, you couldn't add three merged devices so you leave it to the server to reject the call. Is there a better way to handle new transcoding HDHR URLs?

No the problem is that npvr chooses another tuner as soon as the iptv is busy with one channel, it does not try to connect via iptv device. I know, I should have documented it but I have trouble with my testrig and the htpc is constandly in use (but WAF is high Big Grin)

This source is intended to be used for IPTV streams, like those originating from the internet or your cable company etc. It's not really intended to be used for some limited resource. There is no way it could know about future availability of an IPTV resource for scheduling etc, so it has to just assume the streams will be available.

With HDHR devices, they should just use the built in HDHR support, which is always going to be better than a generic IPTV solution. This way the application can plan for resource availability, and schedule recordings appropriately, or handle them as conflicts.

Ok, I didn't know you added support for the transcoding HDHR in 3.2.9

I've had a go at it. I'm not sure if its worked or not though, because I don't have one, and no one in the pre-release group have one.

My intention with the iptv device was to use is a kind of last resort. I have 4 tuners in the htpc and occationally there are 5 concurrent recordings, and acording to Myrphy's law they are all on different frequencies Wink
