Hi
After updating the sw to 3.2.9 the EPG info has gone missing. If I Watch a channel the EPG gets updated but the next morning it's all gone.

I have been experiencing 4G disturbances and have replaced my antenna with built in amplifier to one with the LTE bands excluded. It's better but not perfect.
I plan to install a proper filter plus an amp with limited bandwidth to eliminate the disturbances from saturating the pre amp and corresponding mixed harmonics.

I attach the logs since I suspect that my problem is not related entirely to the disturbances sinece it's OK to load EPG while watching the channels. I made a manual EPG update too so the you can have maxamount of data to analyze

I would untick update epg during live TV in the settings screen - it's known to cause problems for some people.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I'm afraid it didn't help to untick update during Live TV. On the contrary it's the way to update EPG that works best. I have in the mean time installed filters and a new mast mounted antenna amplifier that blocks the LTE frequencies above 790 MHz that are being used by cellular networks.

It's a bit frustrating to miss all scheduled recordings due to lost EPG.

Anyone with some additional suggestions. I'm considering fresh install from scratch.

I expect what is happening is the PC is waking up to do the overnight epg update then going back to sleep before it has finished.
NPVR doesn't seem to tell the pc to stay awake for epg updates and the activity is to small for windows to notice.

In Windows Power Options Advanced Settings you need to change the System Unattended Wake Timeout setting - its 2mins by default - to something like 12 minutes. Check how long a manual epg update takes and add 4 mins.

If you don't have this setting, the attached reg file will install it in Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 - remove the txt extension to run the file.

Also you may find changing the update time to 4-5am might help.

I have last night repeated the process with the EPG update on Live unchecked and the EPG update during the night seems to have been a lot more successful than before.

Thnks Lao Pan for tip. I really appreciate your support :-)

I have now made adjustments accordingly including 4AM update.
I'll let U know the result tomorrow. For your knowledge I have max performance in the Power setting and it isn't supposed to go to sleep at all. If it's successful a couple of nights I will turn update during Live back on and see if it fails again...

The result wasn't clear. I am currently experimenting a bit with the EPG@live setting.

I have been on a trip last week, so I haven't been able to update.
Now I have tested. It still does not work OK. I have disabled update EPG during Live but it still is a problem.

I looked at the NRecord log and it was running the EPG successfully but too few listings seems to be discovered. When looking at the resulting EPG data I discover that all evenings is empty and the daytime shows is there. I have nothing more to look at now so pls give me some assistance. I attached a screen dump and the latest logs.

The ndigitalhost-20.log has
Quote:2014-05-12 01:02:50.702 [DEBUG][5] locked=1, present=1, strength=40, quality=0 (took 109ms to check)

The quality=0 suggests that there is no signal from the antenna ... Are you splitting the antenna cable? Is the signal weak because the antenna is split?

You could test using DVBguide to produce an xmltv file to see if DVBguide finds all of the EPG data that you expect ... http://www.dvbguide.com/

Hi Graham thanks
Now it's getting interesting. Tbelow a dump from dvbguide while still running.
It is running on another DVB frequency than the NPVR.

I don't know what happens in Sweden so you may have try different ways of doing this. In the UK for DVB-T, I believe that all of the EPG is broadcast on all frequencies. So NextPVR can listen on any frequency on any tuner and get all of the EPG.

You can use the command line in DVBguide to specify the tuner device and the frequency to search for EPG data. It may be that you can test to see the results that you get using different values. See the PDF in the DVBguide zip.

One option might be to use DVBguide to create an XMLTV file and then use that XMLTV to get an EPG in NextPVR.

Good Luck.
