When I click "Live TV" I receive the following error: "The tuner you were using was required for a recording. Would you like to switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the menu?"

No recording was active. My Live TV Buffer is set to C:\Temp. Scheduled recordings appear to record properly. After discovering the problem I upgraded to 3.2.9 but the problem persists.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium and a Hdhomerun Dual ATSC tuner. I am receiving my TV signal OTA.

Logs are attached.

It looks like there is something strange happening with the interprocess communication on that machine. It might be caused by firewall or internet security type products?

Sub, thanks for the reply.

I use Zone Alarm Firewall and AVG Antivirus. I have confirmed Zone Alarm has exceptions for NRecord, NPVR.exe and Ndigitalhost. I shut down AVG and Zone Alarm and still have no Live TV. I scanned for malware with Spybot Search and Destroy, found and fixed a few problems, but still no Live TV.

Possibly unrelated, but just in case: when I click on "ReRegister Filters" I get error code 0x80070005 on 6 *.ax files.

I see in your response a reference to "an IPC Port". Is there a port that I should make sure is getting through the firewall?

Try right-clicking on "ReRegister Filters.bat" and select Run as Administrator.

When I run "ReRegister Filters" without Administrator rights a DOS box opens with "C:\Program Files\NPVR>regsvr32 NPVRCCDump.ax" and I get the following error: The module 'NPVRCCDump.ax' was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005". Repeated 6 times for 6 *.ax files.

If I run "ReRegister Filters" as Administrator a DOS box opens with "C:\Windows\system32>regsvr32 NPVRCCDump.ax" and I get the following error: "The module 'NPVRCCDump.ax' failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specific path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found." After OK-ing the error, it gets repeated for a total of 6 *.ax files.

You will notice that when run as an Admin the files are searched for in a different directory. After copying the *.ax files to the C:\Windows\system32folder, "ReRegister Files" succeeded. Which is the proper location for these files?

However, I still have no Live TV.

Reddwarf and Sub,

Thank you so much for your help, however, I uninstalled NPVR completely and reinstalled. That did it! I have Live TV!!!!

Thanks again.

Yes, Run as Admin launches with the system folder as the working directory. sub, could you insert the following at the start of the master ReRegisterFilters.bat?

Code:
cd /d "%~dp0"

This will make it switch to the NPVR program folder regardless of where it is before registering the filters.
