I'm new to NextPVR. I have a windows 7 box running XBMC with a Hauppauge 2250 installed. I'm currently using an OTA antenna but I plan on adding cable later.

When trying to play live TV, I get a black screen with no audio. I've attached the logs for review.

I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware or driver problem, since I've been able to set up and get it successfully working in Windows Media Center. I'd prefer NextPVR and XBMC, however.

Please see attached logs and let me know if there is anything I can do to get this working.

Can you post a screenshot of your Settings->Decoders screen?

Try selecting Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for MPEG2 Video and LAV Audio Decoder for AC3 Audio. You'll only need MPEG1 if you add analog cable. Other formats can be Disabled.

Plus, Audio Renderer to Default is usually recommended.

I've attached new logs and the requested screen-shot. Also, under the tuner where it shows found channels, I've screenshot a few. Are those supposed to match up to the channel numbers? If so, the top 3 should be 19.1 to 19.3 and the bottom should be 16.1 to 16.5. All of my channels have done this with the auto scan. When manually editing them to what I think they should be, the results are the same.

Maybe my original scan is just bad?

In your live tv buffer directory, do you get a live tv file created when you try to watch tv, and does it grow?

No the physical 'channel number and SID' tuning information usually do not match the major.minor numbers used by broadcasters.

Ok, that appears to have been my problem the entire time. I'm trying to direct my recordings and liveTV files to my NAS. I've now tried both mapped drives and UNC paths, but I'm guessing it's an authentication issue. It'll need to be there eventually since my HTPC has a tiny SSD.

When redirecting my liveTV buffer to the local profile of the user running the application, it works. Thanks for your help!

The recording service runs under the SYSTEM account. You will need to change it or change the NAS permissions.

I got that part fixed by mapping an iscsi volume instead of a cifs share. Up and running now!

Thanks again!
