Maybe they just had way too many XBMC shirts to get rid of and it was easier to change the name.

Yeah, given it hasn't worked on Xbox hardware for years, and never even made it only Xbox 360 or Xbox One, I'm guess a name change makes sense. It'll be interesting to see if they go as far as changing the names of directories, config files, log files etc. Could be a major pain in the arse.
