I recently installed NextPVR, as my SageTV is becoming increasingly unreliable.

But I don't see any video from my STBs, I've tried Analog #1, Analog #3 and Analog #2, Analog #4. SageTV uses Analog #2 and Analog #4, so I assumed NextPVR would be the same. I've tried different video decoders, but still no picture. Sage server is turned off BTW. The guide (Schedules Direct) works and USBUIRT is kinda working now (changes more than one zone sometimes). Once I get a picture, I'll being setting up XBMC for my clients.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you install WinTV 7 first? It installs the required SoftPVR software

Thanks, yes it is installed (long ago), but it dies if I try to launch it. I'll try re-installing it.

How are you connecting to your STBs? Composite/svideo/tuner?

I'm connecting with S-Video #2, S-Video #4. I finally got a picture with WinTV 7 on S-Video #2, but I never did get it to switch to S-Video #4. I disabled all of the tuners, except Analog #2, Analog #4 in case that was the problem, but it did not make a difference.

Are you connected to the S-Video connector directly on the back of the HVR-2250, or on some extension panel/cable set?

I've reviewed my notes from the Hauppauge engineer who designed the HVR-22xx and he says:

- The A/V input on the back of the device provide the 1st composite/svideo on the first tuner.
- The A/V cableset plugged into AV header 1 (closed to back planel) is 1st composite/svideo on second tuner.
- The A/V cableset plugged into AV header 2 (furthest from back planel) is shared, providing 2nd composite/svideo on both tuners.

ie, don't use AV header 2, and use the first composite/svideo input when setting both devices in NextPVR.

I have the cable plugged directly into the card; not using the headers on the card.

When I tune the "channels" in WinTV I get video on 7 - SVideo2, 11 - SVideo2, 15 - SVideo2 and 19 - SVideo2, 23 - SVideo2, 27 - SVideo2.

Not sure why these are showing up as fixed channels, but I assume three channels are card 1 and three channels are card 2.

I've tried all combos of Device 1 and SVideo1/SVideo2 and Device 2 and SVideo1/SVideo2, but still no picture

If you've got a STB plugged into the back of your HVR-2250, then go into the first analog device, and add a channel using the svideo input.

If that's not giving you video, it could be the video decoder you're trying to use. To check, try doing a recording, then play the recording with another player, like VLC.
