I am doing a full test to see if I can go to NEXTPVR full time ... one problem I have found that can be easily duplicated is ....

1 I am watching live-TV om my NEXTPVR server box.
2. I fire up my laptop Client.
3. I go to the guide schedule a Series all Episodes..... locks up says DB locked on the client after a few seconds.
4. LiveTV I am watching on the Server Interrupted and guits.



I am on windows 8 have 5 tuners... 1 Prime (3 Tuners) 1 Hd Homerun ASTC (2 Tuners) use reverse priority for LIVETV.

There is a known problem ... try switching off "update epg during live tv" in http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ation.Misc

Though that is likely not it if you have no channels getting EPG data from the broadcast stream. Make the problem happen and post logs from the server and client and tell us the timecode that we should be looking for in the logs.

that option has nothing whatsoever to do with this problem.

@NYPlayer, please post logs from both the client and server showing this happening.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

One of the most common problems for PC client connections and scheduling is the C:\Users\Public\NPVR folder needs to be open for read/write by the client. The default is just read. XBMC, NEWA, X-NEWA and the Samsung LG clients won't have this limitation.

That was easy enough to reproduce first try did it. Logs attached. I had to kill the Client locked up after DB locked message.

Can you temporarily disable TV Listings, and see if you can reproduce it with the built in TV Guide screen? The error messages in the log seem to start in the amongst lots of TV Listing logging messages about loading stuff.

Ok did as you asked this time got DB locked on client but hit ok did not crash.... but liveTV interrupted on server.

Those logs are still full with TV Listing messages. You'll probably need to temporarily remove the plugin (from client and server) and try again.

This is from a fresh Install no plugins. Client scheduled shows ok ... no crash or lockup ... Livetv was Interrupted with a tuner required.

Ok, so that sound like your DB locked problem is probably some bug in the TV Listings plugin.

Not sure I follow what's happening - is there still a problem? Recordings always take preference over live tv, so I'd expect to get kicked out of live tv if the tuner is required for a recording.
